Hop into Spring with this great Canadian chocolate contest

Camino has launched a new product just in time for Easter: a milk chocolate bunny!  This is the only Canadian brand to offer a Fairtrade and Organic-certified chocolate bunny nationally!

What a great way to be socially and environmentally responsible this Easter season, and to give our kids a chocolaty treat that is better for our health than the traditional chocolate bunnies of our generation's childhood. It is an all-natural food choice; in fact, it only has four ingredients and they are all certified as organic!

In addition, Camino has launched four new 100 gram chocolate bars this spring:

  • Milk chocolate (38% cacao) with hazelnuts
  • Milk chocolate (38% cacao) with butterscotch and sea salt
  • Dark chocolate (65% cacao) with ginger
  • Dark chocolate (65% cacao) with chili & spice (cinnamon, ginger and cayenne pepper)

See below for a photo of the four new flavours.

You can find the Camino bunny available at retailers all across Canada, including Loblaws with natural value sections, or buy it online here.

Or you can WIN IT!  I have a gift basket of Camino products available to give away to one lucky Canadian Ultimate Chocolate Blog reader!  The package is $25 in value and includes one Camino Milk Chocolate Bunny and four Camino chocolate bars (one of each of the new flavours!).

So how can you win?  Add a Comment to this blog article below and tell me one reason why you like to buy organic and Fair Trade chocolate!  I will choose a winner (by random software selection) in one week from now, on March 20th, 2013 at 9 p.m. EST, and the prize will be mailed before Easter! 1. I buy certified organic chocolate because the ingredients are more natural than non-organic products.

  2. Ah-mazing! I'm so excited to read this :) Fair trade chocolate is so important cocoa bean harvesting is one of the world's largest industries for forced child labour. And right now, one of the best things I can do is choose to shop responsibly- fair trade is just far TOO important to ignore and the organic nutrition doesn't hurt either!

  3. WOW! This is FABULOUS! Thanks for the opportunity to win! Fair trade chocolate because fair trade contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to,and securing the rights of, marginalized producers and workers.

  6. It's more ethical but it also TASTES better! I recently made a sorbet using local honey, Callebaut chocolate and Camino cocoa. Crazy rich & delicious! We could only eat one small scoop at a time but that was more than enough...

  8. I haven't tried organic chocolate yet but I would love to. I do buy other fair trade products because I feel that this is an important thing to support.

  9. One reason why I like to buy organic and Fair Trade chocolate is because it has a huge impact on individual farmers and their families – education, confidence and community improvement.

  10. Less weird chemicals that I can't pronounce, and it's fairer to the folks supplying the ingredients!

  13. I choose Organic chocolate because I make it a point to try and keep garbage away from my family :) Fair trade purchases ensure that the people who are truly doing the work are being compensated for it.. I try hard to purchase most things through small businesses, etc... Purchasing Fair Trade items is the same idea on a more global scale...
